For the past 28 years, Karen Toombs has worked in various capacities to grow Dallas-based ENTOS Design from a small shop of four interior designers to a leading architectural and design firm of 25 professionals specializing in comprehensive commercial interior design and tenant development services.
A graduate of Kent State University with an associate’s degree in business and office administration, Karen moved to Dallas in 1967 and began her professional career working directly with top-level corporate leaders. After joining in 1980, she learned the business of interior design from the ground up, bringing a systematic, personalized service approach to the firm. By 1988, as vice president, Karen had direct experience with millions of square feet of design projects, encompassing new and renovated office and medical interiors. Her responsibilities expanded to include furniture procurement, installation, and move coordination.
An active volunteer, who believes in giving back to the community, Karen has served on the board of directors and numerous committees for Commercial Real Estate Women since 1988. Currently she is on the board of directors of Special Care and Career Services, a nonprofit agency providing counseling services, educational therapy, and job training for children and adults with cognitive disabilities. She also volunteers her time to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and various fundraising activities of the Dallas Women’s Foundation.
